Victor Regnier, one of the judges for the Contemporary Long Term Care Design Awards, expressed his reasons for selecting this project as the award winner.
"One of my pet peeves when I walk through facilities is the 'contract look' where ever pieces of furniture come out of a standard catalog. In this submission you see thoughtfulness on the part of the interior designer in selecting pieces that are unique and tell a story of their own. It shows not only attention to detail but concern for using interior design as an important salient asset of our history and heritage. It's hard to do. Especially today with the many technial standards that must be satisfied."
